Where to look? Expand to use the LMMS audio sample format

I can't remember which processor it was, but one of the processors use Ableton, or something like that. Since its a big ask, I was going to try my hand at implementing it myself, but I'm not sure where to look. Could I get a ( I lack the vocabulary ) infrastructural hint of where the processor works from?

I guess what I was really interested in was the differentiation of "sound start", "loop start", "loop end". I don't think there currently exists such a feature
