This PR adds the ability for Operations to order sheets of aluminium and lead sheets, ostensibly for the machine shop which now requires them for a decent number of things. They're both very common materials that aren't necessarily unique to mining(In fact aluminium is by far the most commonly mined material of them all), so this is mainly to act as a sanity check for rounds where there's no shaft miners to obtain these common materials. Or to pad out the shop when answering cargo bounties.

One may argue I should add gold and silver too, but to be honest I don't think I should because they're both something you can obtain via engineering from the INDRA, so there's not really a need to be able to order them. Aluminium and lead on the other hand are more feast or famine.

I've tested this PR and verified that it works.

Link to discord conversation discussing my concerns here. TLDR, I think, based on TCJ reporting that experienced miners tend to avoid collecting bauxite for refinement into aluminum (on the reasonable basis that, historically, it hasn't been used for much), I'd prefer to see that behavior modified (IE start yelling at miners to collect bauxite) to gauge whether or not a lead/aluminum scarcity is mechanical, or due to in-game patterns of mining behavior making it appear scarce.

I'd prefer to delay this until INDRA PR is in and we've observed it for a while, as it will be introducing Another source of lead and aluminum for the machine shop. And at the very least, if these are added, I'd prefer seeing prices way higher- I know they're insanely cheap and common materials, but as a gameplay concession.

As a miner main for years I can confirm for myself anyways that I do not bother mining bauxite or galena because it has literally no use for any department that needs them, or they already spawn with more than enough. It's basically like digging dirt and bringing it home

Yeaaaa, this is sadly no longer accurate since now the machine shop demands aluminium, lead, and plasteel.

  • Aluminium: Used to make most hardsuits, as well as "Light" mech parts. Light mech parts require zero steel, so having aluminium on hand lets you make a nifty trade to save resources if you don't care about protection.
  • Lead: Used to make any hardsuit that provides radiation protection. As well as radiation shielding mech armor.
  • Plasteel: Used to make combat hardsuits of all 3 varieties(Hazard, Combat, and Falcata exoskeleton), as well as hardsuits with significant explosive protection.

We will see how things go with the Indra PR as Bactra said
