Update dependencies

Describe the bug

I've had to revert #280 in #343 to unblock the pipeline. We should get that updated along with all other packages that require updates to be compatible.
On initial investigation, this changes most dependencies and also changes how classes are generated. Some of the code is to be refactored to mitigate regressions, after which we can resume updating the project.

I reverted the update to semantic-release, but that is no longer included in the project, so there's no need to update it.
