Text background color cannot be selected for multiple lines of text

Describe the bug
The issue #2238 has reappeared. But only for selections of multiple lines of text.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Write at least two or more lines of text inside a shape (by using the Enter key to make a new line)
2. Select all the lines of text
3. Check the "background color" checkbox

Expected behavior
The "background color" checkbox is checked and the color selector is displayed.

Actual behavior
The "background color" checkbox is checked for only a fraction of a second.
The "background color" checkbox immediately unchecks itself and the color selector disappears.

Additional context
Curios detail: If after the bug, you select any random single line of text, the text will result with the "background color" checkbox enabled with "white" or "black" as the color (depending on the theme in use). But as soon as you select more than one line, the "bacground color" checkbox will uncheck itself, even if, the text is clearly still background colored with white or black.
