Not detecting updates?

The app Fantastical, which I have installed via Brew, is listed in Applite, but it would not update to the latest version. Applite tells me that there are no updates available. However, I was able to run this command in the terminal:

brew upgrade fantastical

Why did Applite not detect this update?

Hi. Fantastical among most other apps on Homebrew has its own update mechanism. For this reason, Homebrew doesn't update them automatically. This also means that it won't appear in Applite. You can still manually update apps with built-in update mechanisms by running brew upgrade {cask} as you did, but that's not the intended way of updating these apps.

I see that there is a -greedy tag for updates that forces homebrew to update these apps. Is there any way I can modify Applite to use this? Could this be added to the preferences? Thanks.

In the updates tab, there is a Show All Updates button. That will scan for updates with the greedy flag.

Small note: I feel the UI for this could be improved. It isn't clear if "show all" is on or off?

It's not a toggle. You have to manually press it each time you want to see all updates. But probably it makes sense to convert it to a toggle as users who use it would want greedy updates all the time I assume.
