Given how faraday's established pattern is to utilize middlewares to handle auth, i almost wonder if it makes more sense for us to simply expose middleware attachments as part of the initialization of a client.

There isn't really just reason for savon to add a layer of complexity around this that i can think of and it would be a far more flexible and sustainable implementation to just allow the consumer to do something along the lines of

Savon::Client.new() do |faraday|
  faraday.request :digest, USERNAME, PASSWORD
end

It probably wouldn't be too bad if we just saved a config block and replayed it against the faraday instance when the connection was being created.
