Working Groups
TODO has traditionally been a very ad-hoc, community-driven initiative. While the charter mentions the possibility of working groups as a structure for organizing work within the community, there is no standardized way for them to operate. Instead, each working group follows its own structure and rules once its creation has been approved by the Steering Committee, following the established “community proposal” process documented in the governance repository.
Local Community Groups
Moreover, in response to the growing demand for engaging with local communities and recognizing the diverse OSPO challenges across regions, industries, and specializations, the OSPOlogy framework emerged as a successful format to support local communities. This model enables self-managed local groups run by TODO members or associates. While it has been particularly active in European countries such as the Netherlands, Finland, Germany, and Sweden, it has also expanded to LATAM (Colombia and Mexico), China (Shanghai and Beijing), and Japan (Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, and virtual meetups).

The only requirement for these local chapters is to be hosted on the LF Online Community platform, use local ospochi brand and give quarterly updates via gh discussions in english

There has been some confusion regarding naming conventions. Initially, these local meetups were referred to as “OSPO Local Meetups,” but for consistency, everything is now being branded under “OSPOlogy” as a prefix
Membership Structure
There are two main membership types:
Organizational Membership:
- General Members
- Associates
Programs
Individual programs:
- Ambassadors
Governance Structure & Committees
Currently, the Steering Committee is the only established committee. There are no other formalized committees, which could be an area for further exploration.
