Changed software paths to new spack installations where possible. Added a new module to read an environmental variable to detect if it's a modular or "old" environment. SOFTWARE_TYPE=spack/linuxbrew needs to exist as an environmental variable for everybody!!
Testing
Tested it and works as expected (not tested in "old" environment, but it should be the same)

Sorry about the review spam. I just want to make sure it seems sensible to everyone before we merge. The four of us should cover all types of environments.
